Hey y'all. For anyone listening, sorry for being absent here.
A couple of days ago, I found out through my friends that my artwork had been stolen. Unfortunately, the thief is not here on Newgrounds, they're on Tumblr, so there's no way I can report them. They plagiarized my Vox Redesign by heavily tracing the hands, torso, legs, and cables. They basically copied the entire concept of the design aside from changing the outfit's color and the head shape. I don't like Hazbin Hotel but the redesigns I made are dear to me and I planned to draw more art of them and even build upon them. But now this fifteen-year-old girl has stolen my art, taken advantage of my creation, and her post is doing more numbers than any of my posts ever have.
I made a Tumblr account and tried reaching out to this girl multiple times and some buddies of mine have been trying all they could to help. The girl keeps hiding our reblogs and anybody else who calls her out has their messages hidden too. She refuses to talk to me to get things sorted out. Her DMs are locked and the reblog option on her post has recently been locked. Again, the girl is only fifteen so it's possible she assumed that I would yell or curse at her. I just want to be credited where credit is due or demand the post be taken down. What's troubling is that my buds and I found out that she's traced from other artists too. If those other artists find out I fear they may not confront her the way I wanted to.
The girl has wonderful and original art on her blog. I don't understand what possessed her up and to steal my artwork all of a sudden. I feel distraught, disappointed, and humiliated. Me being a small artist online is doing any favors. Since it's on Tumblr, I filed a DMCA takedown, which was sent successfully but I may have to wait about ten business days to find out if it is valid. I pray to God the result is valid. I've tried everything to make people aware of my situation and provide evidence to prove that what I'm saying is true. I just hope that I've done everything right and that my art is finally back in my hands.
I don't want to violate the guidelines here, so I don't think I can post the directories to my posts talking about the drama. The last thing I want is to ruin things for myself when I already feel destroyed. In addition, I don't condone online harassment and would never wish that upon the girl despite what they've done to me. So, I hope you don't mind me venting my frustrations here. If you made it this far, I appreciate you taking the time to read. I'm not dead on here but I feel pretty discouraged of sharing any artwork right now. All I can do now is play the waiting game and hope that the DMCA takedown works...
